Lord, I Need You

Interrupting this post to say we are heading out for Colorado. We are going to be witnessing to an old friend who is a WWII vet. Please pray he gets saved - his time is growing short. Thanks!

Lately, I have found myself singing "Lord, I need You". That song has such truth. When life seems gentle, when pleasures flood my way, I forget to throw myself on the Lord and His goodness. It is not until I need Him
I remember to pray.

Many incidents have happened this year that have drawn me much closer to the Lord. I have been learning to depend wholly on Him. Considering it all, I really think I can only be thankful for past difficulties and problems. Since the beginning of September, I have started thanking Him for all my "back-side-of-the-desert" experiences.

A personal love relationship with Christ isn't something to be taken lightly. We as Christians are sometimes accused as only using Him for our "fire insurance". It shouldn't be that way. Whether in a trial or times of peace, let's work together towards developing our relationship with Him.
Let it be in our times of prosperity and blessing that we say "Lord, I need You".

Lord I need You, when the sea of life is calm
O Lord I need you when the wind is blowing strong
Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees
Lord I need You, Lord I need You

Sometimes when life seems gentle and blessings flood my way,
I turn my gaze away from you, and soon forget to pray
But when the sky grows darker and courage turns to fear
My anxious voice cries upward with words You long to hear

Lord I need You, when the sea of life is calm
O Lord I need you when the wind is blowing strong
Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees
Lord I need You, Lord I need You

Lord help me to remember, I’m weak but You are strong
I cannot sing apart from You, for Lord You are my song
Although I’m prone to wander and boast in all I do
Lord keep my eyes turned upward, so I depend on You

  3. Awesome post Alicia! I too, thank Him for hardships as they have drawn me closer to my Lord, King, Savior, and Master. He is so good to allow circumstances to come our way to grow us stronger. He is absolutely AMAZING! He loves us too much to keep us stagnant . Love you! Great and thoughtful, truthful post! God Bless you all on your trip. Will definitely pray for this dear man. Victory is Jesus!

    I heard an old, old story,
    How a Savior came from glory,
    How He gave His life on Calvary
    To save a wretch like me;
    I heard about His groaning,
    Of His precious blood's atoning,
    Then I repented of my sins
    And won the victory.

    Chorus
    O victory in Jesus,
    My Savior, forever.
    He sought me and bought me
    With His redeeming blood;
    He loved me ere I knew Him
    And all my love is due Him,
    He plunged me to victory,
    Beneath the cleansing flood.

    I heard about His healing,
    Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.
    How He made the lame to walk again
    And caused the blind to see;
    And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,
    Come and heal my broken spirit,"
    And somehow Jesus came and bro't
    To me the victory.

    Chorus
    O victory in Jesus,
    My Savior, forever.
    He sought me and bought me
    With His redeeming blood;
    He loved me ere I knew Him
    And all my love is due Him,
    He plunged me to victory,
    Beneath the cleansing flood.

    I heard about a mansion
    He has built for me in glory.
    And I heard about the streets of gold
    Beyond the crystal sea;
    About the angels singing,
    And the old redemption story,
    And some sweet day I'll sing up there
    The song of victory.

    Chorus
    O victory in Jesus,
    My Savior, forever.
    He sought me and bought me
    With His redeeming blood;
    He loved me ere I knew Him
    And all my love is due Him,
    He plunged me to victory,
    Beneath the cleansing flood.
